The Quality & Laboratory Manager is responsible for leading all quality assurance, quality control, laboratory testing, calibration, ISO compliance, continuous improvement, and technical quality systems within a magnesia-carbon refractory manufacturing facility. The position ensures that all raw materials, work-in-process products, and finished refractory products meet established specifications, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards.
This role provides leadership for laboratory operations, testing programs, statistical process control, measurement system analysis, calibration systems, ISO 9001 compliance, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position serves as the primary quality representative during customer audits, certification audits, and supplier qualification activities.
PRCO America Inc. founded as a US corporation in 2008 is both an importer of refractory finished goods and a US producer of resin bonded magnesia graphite and alumina-magnesia-carbon refractory bricks. Our Hickory, Kentucky MgO-C manufacturing plant started up in 2022 supplying refractory for Steel Ladles, EAFs and BOFs. Our MgO-C is formulated using highest quality raw materials customized to meet specific operating conditions for lowest wear rate per heat, cleanest steel quality, and lowest refractory cost per ton of steel produced. In 2026, we have initiated our Phase 2 expansion to increase mixing, pressing and tempering capacity.
