We are looking for a Senior Traffic Engineer to keep our City of Sunnyvale roads and streets safe. This position will perform professional traffic engineering work by planning, designing, constructing, and maintaining our roadways. The position will have a primary focus on developing and reviewing land development traffic studies while working with traffic engineering consultants and assisting with staffing the City's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory committee meetings. We are looking for someone with strong communication, analytical, technical, problem-solving skills, and best practice project management methodologies. We are seeking a candidate with an excellent ability to effectively supervise and work with cross-functional teams, the ability to prioritize and deliver results in a constantly changing environment, and a proven ability to establish effective working relationships with customers, co-workers, and vendors.

The minimum qualifications for education and experience can be met in the following way:

 A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering or a closely related field; 

AND

Five years of experience in performing relevant, professional level work in traffic, transportation or civil engineering with some lead or supervisory experience.
