General Purpose This position performs skilled work at the journey level in the construction, maintenance and operation of the underground and overhead electrical distribution system including installation of fiber optic cable. Work includes performing skilled tasks on both deenergized and energized systems up to 13,800 volts utilizing rubber gloving practices. Work is varied in nature and the incumbent applies an advanced knowledge of electricity to work performed. Respond to customer power outages and electrical problems. Work involves climbing poles, driving, and operating line bucket and digger derrick trucks, working with specialty tools, and working in confined spaces.
