Postdoctoral researcher in plant ecophysiological modeling
The postdoctoral researcher (PR) will contribute to a new NSF PGRP-funded research project integrating high-throughput field-based phenomics with biophysical process-based modeling in plants to examine mechanisms of drought response in upland cotton. The PR will be responsible for leading model development and liaising with partner institutions (University of Arizona, University of Wyoming and Boyce Thompson Institute). Aims of project are to characterize transcriptional and biophysical responses of genetically diverse cotton genotypes, adapt a biophysical process-based model to simulate genotype-specific acclimation responses to water limitation in cotton, and characterize the genetic and physiological bases of drought resistance. The primary role for the PR wil
