Description

Medecipher is seeking a highly motivated operations researcher to help bring real-time, operations-based research intelligence to empower hospital operators in making key decisions.

The candidate’s responsibilities involve developing, implementing, and maintaining predictive and prescriptive mathematical models and implementing these models. The candidate will collaborate with software engineers in the development and deployment of the fully integrated solution for hospital customers.

The ideal candidate is a quick learner and an effective communicator, with applied operations experience, excited about his/her work having an immediate impact in the healthcare domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and perform discrete event simulation using modern simulation software tools (e.g. Simio, and Simio APIs and libraries) and/or Python
• Develop, implement, and maintain predictive models in R 
• Develop, implement, and maintain optimization models in modern optimization language using AMPL
• Test models for accuracy and performance
• Support information technology colleagues, business owners and third-party vendors for overall system integration
• Effectively communicate results to technical peers and supervisors

Requirements

• Master’s or Applied PhD in Operations Research/Industrial Engineering from a U.S. institution, or
• Master’s in operations-focused Analytics program (upon demonstration of knowledge of tools), or
• Bachelor’s in Operations Research/Industrial Engineering
