Responsibility within the organization to drive hardware design/analysis standards and practices, gaining deep application expertise, and delivering new technology through technical leadership across the disciplines.
Leadership of design architecture of hardware and firmware systems for complex motor control applications.
Full product management of electronic motor control product across Regal to standardize product offerings wherever possible to minimize supply chain risk and minimize cost.
Establishes corporate electronics design standards and influences the design standards in all disciplines, ensures proper technical fundamentals are applied to the design and electronics analysis of components, products and systems, and performs highly complex technical electronics analysis while participating in the analysis process in all disciplines.
Develops corporate standards for electronics design & analysis and ensures proper technical fundamentals are applied to the design process, while taking into account the disciplines of software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering.
Manages a small team of sourcing and technical experts to develop architecture rules, manage architecture implementation and ensure compliance by the product teams.
Sets standards for specific electronic component design and supplier and manages corporate level partnership with these key suppliers to maintain supply chain assurance and minimize cost.
Provides expert guidance to design engineers across the disciplines on problem solving methods and oversees the proposed solutions from other design engineers. Mentors other engineers in all disciplines.
Leads collaboration across disciplines in the organization with parts, design reviews, and practices to hit cost targets.
Applies deep understanding of customers and markets to development forward thinking and industry changing technologies
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent related experience, advanced degree in Power Electronics required, PhD preferred.
15+ years relevant experience.
Advanced experience with hardware development and design for manufacturability.
Strong supply chain knowledge in the electronic component and electronic manufacturing services industries
Strong product management skills with demonstrated results in successfully managing a complex product offering in a multi-national company.
Advanced knowledge of power electronics application and theory and a good knowledge of software, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering.
Skilled in organizing, prioritizing, and coordinating working relationships with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.
Green Belt in Lean Six Sigma within 3 years; Design for Lean Six Sigma or Black Belt preferred; Professional Engineer preferred.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
