Postdoctoral Position in Epigenetic Regulation of Plant Stem Cells
Subject Stem cells are maintained in a pluripotent state that enables them to serve as source for the formation of new cells, tissues and organs. Recent findings suggest that pluripotency depends on the epigenetic state of the stem cells, but the mechanisms controlling this state and the transition into committed cell fates remain to be revealed. Qualification requirements We are seeking highly motivated candidates to investigate the epigenetic mechanisms regulating pluripotency in the stem cell niche of the Arabidopsis root meristem. Our previous work identified WOX5 as an epigenetic key regulator of root stem cells and developed tools to dissect cell fates at the single-cell level (Pi et al, Developmental Cell 33, 576-88 and unpub
