The Capital Engineering Manager has day-to-day responsibility for the management and operations of the capital program group of the Public Works Department.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a host of planning and project delivery efforts that range from traditional road preservation and utility upgrades, to cutting-edge sustainable transportation projects. Additionally, the candidate will have the opportunity to develop new strategies and tools for planning and executing projects, and will be encouraged to take a creative approach to engaging the community in the work.
Bainbridge Island is a non-charter code city serving a resident population of approximately 23,000. The municipal government employs approximately 130 people to deliver $25 million in annual services excluding debt and capital expenses. The City is structured as a council-manager form of government. Like its neighboring cities, Bainbridge Island delivers a variety of public safety, street maintenance, and basic utility services.
