Assistant Professor in Civil and Environmental Engineering
Environmental Engineering Faculty Position:
The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CIVE) at Oklahoma State University is pleased to invite applications for one (1) tenure-track faculty position in the area of Environmental Engineering and Water Resources. The successful candidate must demonstrate potential for developing a strong externally funded research program. The School is especially interested in candidates that can collaborate strategically with current expertise within the department, college, and state. Preferred candidates may be focused on the following areas: unit operations; contaminants of emerging concern (CECs); analytical detection, sensing, and monitoring; physical-chemical or biological treatment of water and wastewater; transformations of contaminants in the environment; water reuse; modeling of water and environmental systems, and resource recovery. Candidates will be considered in all areas of Environmental Engineering and Water Resources. The successful candidate must have an academic background to teach undergraduate courses in environmental and water resources engineering in the Civil and Environmental Engineering curriculum, as well as teach new and/or existing graduate courses in their area of expertise. A Ph.D. in, or closely related to, Civil and Environmental Engineering is required. It is preferred that candidates can become licensed as a Professional Engineer within 6 years of appointment.
Oklahoma State University is located in Stillwater, Oklahoma, approximately 60 miles from both Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The School currently has 13 faculty members, 268 undergraduate students, and 70 graduate students. The School is a unique blend of teaching and research excellence. Research expenditures were $3 million in 2018 or approximately $150,000 per faculty member. The OSU Civil Engineering program has undergone a major expansion through the construction of new offices and classrooms as well as the new Endeavor Lab. The Endeavor Lab is a 72,000 sf interdisciplinary undergraduate laboratory opened in the fall semester of 2018.
Ph.D. in a field closely related to Civil and Environmental Engineering is required.
