The School of Business of Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez in Santiago, Chile, is hiring a faculty member in the field of Operations Management and/or Analytics at the Assistant or Associate level to begin in 2020.
Successful candidates are expected to teach professional, graduate, and undergraduate courses (mostly in Spanish), supervise doctoral and master students, conduct high-quality research in collaboration with industry and government, publish in top-tier journals and participate in outreach activities. The teaching load for our research-oriented faculty is two-to-four courses per year, depending on research productivity, as per a transparent point-based system. As a reference, most faculty members in the Operations / Analytics group teach only two courses per year.
Candidates must exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills (in Spanish and English), an aptitude for teamwork, and scholarly interest in high-quality business education and research. Excellence and strong motivation in teaching are essential. Relevant industry experience and a strong publication record are a plus.
When joining the School of Business, the candidate will become part of the Industrial Engineering & Operations (IE&O) group, which includes faculty members from the School of Business and the Faculty of Engineering and Sciences. The starting date for this position is negotiable and could be as early as August 2020. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree in Operations Management, Operations Research, Business Analytics or a related discipline at the time of starting the position.
