The Department of Clinical Genomics at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN is seeking an exceptional Clinical Geneticist with special expertise in Cancer Genetics and Genomics.
The successful candidate will join a department with 7 full time clinical geneticists in Rochester plus 2 part time clinical geneticists, 2 full time clinical geneticists at Mayo Clinic Florida and Arizona, 19 laboratory geneticists, 20 genetics counselors and allied health support staff. The focus for this position will be on the care and identification of patients and families with genetic predisposition to cancer. The Department of Clinical Genomics has strong working connections with the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, which functions as one of the largest international reference laboratories in the country. The candidate will also benefit from collaboration with colleagues within the Center for Individualized Medicine and access to a rapidly growing body of genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data.
The Department has several multidisciplinary clinics and is integrated with over 50 clinical departments and divisions providing care to an interesting, challenging and exceptionally diverse patient population. The successful candidate will enjoy close clinical collaboration with pediatricians, neurologists, endocrinologists, surgeons and multiple other disciplines. Opportunities to conduct research and teach medical students, residents, fellows, visiting clinicians, and allied health professionals are essential components of the position. Other major resources available at the Mayo Clinic include access to the electronic medical record, mitochondrial bio bank, NIH-funded Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCaTs) and NIH-funded Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The candidate must be board-certified or have active candidate status with the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
