The High Voltage Test Engineer is responsible for the design and execution of tests performed on products for new product development activities, which includes Switchgear and Cable Accessories products. The Test Engineer determines processes, schedules and procedures, equipment selection, coordination with outside labs (i.e. Power Labs), and is responsible for the creation of the initial Test Report (data and other evidence).
BS in Electrical Engineering with emphasis on electrical power
2-3 years electrical test engineering experience on electrical power equipment preferred
Experience with High Voltage 38kv or above
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Familiarity with ANSI, IEEE, IEC, UL and other standards preferred
Willingness to travel to perform tests in outside labs
Knowledgeable about test equipment
Ability to learn and, at all times, adhere to proper safety protocols is required
Familiar with new product development Stage Gate Process
Able to write technical documents, like test reports, engineering standards and technical papers.
