Centrally located between the Villages and Orlando, the City of Leesburg, Florida announces the job opening of City Engineer. Duties include providing professional civil engineering, project development, public relations, and project administration for a wide range of City projects. Manages engineering division comprising project management, infrastructure inspection, GIS, survey and engineering development review. Works under the direction of the Director of Public Works. Works closely with the City Manager in preparation of CIP; works closely with other department heads providing appropriate support for their projects. Provides leadership and direction for transportation planning.
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Public Administration or related field. Requires five (5) years or more of functional and progressively professional project and/or management experience at the local government level. Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida is preferred. Requires a valid State of Florida driver license and satisfactory driving record as a condition of initial and continued employment.
