The Department of Materials Science and Engineering DMSE at The Ohio State University invites applications for the following faculty positions. Brief descriptions of each are provided below, with links to more detailed descriptions and application information. The intended start date for all positions is Autumn 2019. Applicants will be invited as early as December 2018; however, the searches will continue until the positions are filled. Salary will be commensurate with the qualifications of the candidate.
Polymer/Biomaterials Synthesis and Processing (2 positions) Two interdisciplinary tenure-track faculty positions in Materials Science and Engineering will bridge expertise in polymer/biomaterials synthesis and processing with several academic units – the departments of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, and College of Medicine. Corrosion Science and Engineering A tenure-track faculty position in Materials Science and Engineering will deepen and complement existing departmental strengths in corrosion, materials characterization, and computational materials science, and build on decades of expertise in the Fontana Corrosion Center. Materials and Society A clinical faculty position in Materials Science and Engineering will develop and teach undergraduate courses with a focus on experiential learning and innovation, laboratory instruction, and materials in a societal context. See http://go.osu.edu/MSEgrow4.
