Building & Earth Sciences, an expanding geotechnical engineering and CMT firm, is looking for a Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina, area. The selected candidate will manage complex field geotechnical projects from subsurface exploration through construction involving soils, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel and asphalt testing and inspection. Ability to author geotechnical reports/proposals required. Prior group/department management experience strongly preferred. Ideal candidate will have an understanding of general business practices including knowledge of a P&L statement, business development, etc. Compensation based on the candidate’s level and breadth of experience.EOE/M/F/D/V
-Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.-PE License required.-5 years’ experience in performing geotechnical services.-Experience in geotechnical investigations, geotechnical (or related) reports, defining testing plans, interpreting test data, performing engineering analyses for foundation design, drilling, boring plan layout, site preparation issues and/or slope stability.-Knowledge of respective states permitting, sub surface exploration, and client contacts.-Previous management experience strongly preferred.
