Amec Foster Wheeler Environment & Infrastructure seeks a motivated Senior Civil / Water / Wastewater Engineer / Project Manager to provide technical expertise and project management support in the development and implementation of water engineering solutions.
The selected candidate will become part of an established water engineering practice working on prominent potable water distribution and storage, wet weather remediation design, water and wastewater treatment, and pump station projects in the Pittsburgh region as well as significant water resources projects throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and nationally.
Employee will help plan and design water distribution systems, sanitary / storm / combined sewer collection systems; green infrastructure and resiliency; stormwater management; site / civil design; and water / wastewater treatment plants and pump stations.
Representative client sectors include: Federal, State, and Municipal / Local Government, Clean Energy, Commercial & Industrial, Transportation, and Non-Governmental Organizations.
Key Responsibilities •Serve as senior engineer / project manager to develop scope, schedule, and budget and ensure successful project delivery; Supervise and prepare engineering analyses, studies, and detailed engineering plans and specifications •Provide leadership / mentoring to engineers and technicians and support the management of water / wastewater projects •Assist in compiling and presenting results of engineering studies •Use high-level computer systems and applications to develop solutions to engineering problems •Participate in local, regional, and national water / wastewater organizations •Serve as subject matter technical expert on specific tasks or projects •Compile and present results of planning and engineering studies •Manage quality assurance and quality control for work deliverables •Convey project results and findings by means of oral discussions, presentations and project documentation •Responsible for the effective management of own time and effort in accordance with business unit priorities and objectives •Control project-related expenditures so that project milestones are accomplished within budget •Lead multidisciplinary project teams including junior to senior level technical staff, CAD operators / designers, subcontractors, and teaming partners •Support the department in the management of staffing and workload
Skills / Qualifications
Required •8 years of experience in water engineering •Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering, with an emphasis in Water Engineering, or relevant disciplines •Professional Engineer license in Pennsylvania is required •Formal training / education and / or demonstrated technical competence in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water distribution network modeling, and / or water quality modeling applications •Experience in managing AutoCAD Civil 3D and ArcGIS work efforts •Proficient in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint •Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred •Working knowledge of SWMM and / or InfoWorks ICM •Working knowledge of MS Access or equivalent database software •Master of Science in relevant discipline
