As a member of the management team you will participate in formulating and establishing organizational policies and operating procedures for the company and develop, implement and coordinate, through the manufacturing site QA Managers, product assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products. You will be the key staff member in supplier QMS development and performance improvement.
What you’ll do:
Be involved in areas such as supplier performance and supplier issues, customer ratings and warranty status
Provide manufacturing site QA Managers support on manufacturing/engineering issues of new/existing products for consideration by other members of management team.
Work to maintain and improve product quality by completing product, company, system, compliance, and surveillance audits; by investigating customer complaints; by collaborating with other members of management to establish effective corrective action and root cause analysis for all findings.
Work closely with manufacturing site QA managers to validate quality processes by establishing quality attributes; measuring production; documenting evidence; determining operational and performance qualification; writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
Visit and confer with representatives of material and component suppliers to obtain information related to supply quality and vendor quality standards.
Work with other management personnel in formulating and establishing a supplier performance improvement program and implement across the corporation.
Work with the V.P Quality to review initial and subsequent modifications of product assurance programs in place in the manufacturing facilities to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements, and operational procedures within the program.
Work with the Compliance Manager to achieve quality assurance compliance objectives (ISO 9001, TS16949, ISO 14001) by contributing information and analysis to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing quality, regulatory (UL, FDA, etc.) and customer requirements; identifying and resolving problems; completing audits; determining system improvements; implementing change.
The successful candidates will bring the following to the position
B.S. technical degree
A well-rounded background which includes Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering; Reliability; additional class work in management courses and problem solving techniques (i.e., Statistical Quality Control, Six Sigma, and PPAP);
Technical training in ISO 9001, ISO14001,
ASQ certification. (CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE, CSSGB/ or CSSBB)
Minimum ten years of broad technical experience in a manufacturing environment.
Minimum eight experience in managing technical staff and complex activities in an engineering or technical operations environment, including minimum of five years’ Quality Management experience.
Proficient in the management of an ISO 9001 Quality management System
