Field Service Representative

The Pulp & Paper division has a Full-time opportunity for a Field Service Representative reporting to our Lenox, MA location, with flexibility to reside nationwide within the continental United States.
The Field Service Representative provides hands-on supervision of equipment maintenance, repair, rebuild, troubleshooting and installation at customer sites. Facilitates utilization of sub-contractors as required.
Provide scheduled and emergency service to GL&V customers & Coordinate work on all equipment in the GL&V Pulp and Paper Product Lines.
Required to perform duties of lead erector for some installations. Develop working relationship with customers and contractors.
Direct millwrights, alignment crews, pipe fitters and electricians in accordance with GLV standards and drawings.
Coordinate with engineering to diagnose and solve problems encountered on site.
Maintain records, mark up drawings, provide timely reports and provide feedback on all changes made during service visits.
Provide applicable technical assistance to Sales personnel in analyzing customer requirements, equipment
design and trial runs on systems and equipment.
Assist in customer presentations related to installation, operation and maintenance of company produced systems and equipment. Train customer personnel in the operation and maintenance of equipment.
Review and analyze the actual performance and make recommendations on adjustments, replacements, repairs or changes in procedures, as required.
Work with field operators in the care, maintenance and operation of products and provide on-site direction.
Collaborate with field personnel to prepare for and perform actual new start-ups or make appropriate modifications and adjustments to resolve problems in operation.
Provide timely reports – reports are due upon completion of job but not to exceed 10 working days
In mill work may require shifts up to 14 hours in duration
Associates Degree or accredited apprenticeship and/or three or more years of related hands-on mechanical experience such as that acquired by a maintenance mechanic or technician. Knowledge of installation, operation, maintenance and repair of company produced equipment.
Requires the ability to read blueprints and diagrams. Knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
Working knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, rigging, pipefitting, and machining preferred.
Must possess excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Strong leadership ability is essential to supervise work groups.
Periodic drug testing done by GL&V and conform to individual mill drug testing requirements.
Maintain current Passport and Valid Driver’s License.
Travel, 70% minimum of field days is expected, International travel required, Air travel is required
Must be accessible during normal working hours and other non- standard hours occasionally as needed to support customers
