Salary: $72,725 Annually, negotiable depending on qualifications
Department: Engineering and Public Works/Traffic Engineering
Location: 2300 North Jog Road, WPB
Hours: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday - Friday
Other: Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
Assists in the administration of the County's Traffic Performance Standards for land development. Provides technical guidance to engineers, consultants and developers regarding existing and future traffic conditions and County Traffic Performance policies and procedures. Reviews and interprets traffic studies; evaluates improvements to maintain level of service standards; prepares traffic engineering conditions of approval. Coordinates with various Traffic Division sections and other Departments such as Engineering and Planning, Zoning and Building. May represent the Traffic Division at public meetings, such as, but not limited to, Planning and Zoning Commissions and Board of County Commissioners.

Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of FL OR a Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Transportation/Traffic Engineering; minimum of four (4) years of experience in professional Civil Engineering with emphasis in Traffic Engineering and/or Transportation Planning. Equivalency: Related Master's Degree and three (3) years of related experience.
Necessary Special Requirement: Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the State of FL or the ability to obtain licensure by endorsement within 12 months of hire.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE:Reviewing traffic studies; analyzing roadway level of service; reviewing site development plans (must specify on application); using Synchro and/or Highway Capacity Software (HCS).
