CivilTech Engineering Inc., located in Cypress, Texas, is hiring for a Senior Transportation Engineer with 7+ years of experience. Our projects are diversified and include work on US 290, IH 10, I-69, I-610, Grand Parkway, and SH 249 for clients that include the Texas Department of Transportation, area counties, and area cities. We have several ongoing and upcoming projects for these clients. In addition to a variety of projects, this opportunity will grant the successful candidate a strong opportunity for growth and management of graduate engineers, EIT, and new professional engineers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares project designs and reports related to transportation projects.
Prepares and monitors project budgets and has overall responsibility for project profitability.
Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects.
Supervises and monitors client relationship strategies.
Coordinates scoping and marketing strategies for proposed projects.
Develops engineering agreements for projects within the department.
Prepares forecast of workload for assigned staff.
Develops probable construction cost estimates for projects within the department.
Responsible for attending and leading client meetings.
Responsible for control of work-in-process, ensures accurate client billings and monitors both accounts receivable and collection efforts for projects.
Directs and supervises other engineer's activities.
Responsible for contract administration.
Prepares, modifies or directs preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project.
Directs technical staff in the preparation of construction drawings.
Visits construction site to monitor progress and other duties per the contract documents.
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
Minimum of 7 years of experience
Experience in TxDOT or transportation engineering is preferred.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
COMPUTER AND MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Candidate must demonstrate basic knowledge of Microstation and GeoPak, including Corridor Modeler. Demonstrates basic knowledge of design applications such as hydraulic design and roadway design. Must be proficient in the usage of Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, trigonometry and financial functions.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas
Must have a valid driver’s license
