We are currently seeking a Professional Engineer with experience leading a construction engineering and inspection team for public infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have experience as a Construction Services Team Leader and will also be responsible for developing new business and for client relations for new and existing clients. Our current projects include highways, streets, light rail, commuter rail, drainage and utilities for state and local governments. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise construction inspection, engineering design technicians and other technical staff
Training, management, accountability and mentoring of Construction, Engineering, and Inspection (CE&I) personnel.
Develop and actively manage project management activities, such as project scope, schedule, budget and quality management.
Financial reviews of projects, understanding of multipliers, overhead, profit.
Overall financial performance of CE&I personnel.
Establish priorities, work schedules and coordinates resource needs/assignments.
Review and evaluate design and construction practices
Responsible for the hiring, supervision, mentoring, professional development, evaluation and termination of CEI staff members
Perform technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specifications and plan preparation
Initiate and maintain client relations in construction management and services
Participate in Marketing pursuits writing scope approaches and Business Development
Attend project meetings and work in a team environment or independently
Facilitate meetings with internal staff and external clients

Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
Texas Licensed Professional Engineer
Minimum of 15 years’ experience in Construction, Engineering and Inspection, Transportation and/or General Civil Design
Experience managing construction services for TxDOT, rail and transit agencies, airports or toll authorities and delivering transportation projects and task assignments
Previous verifiable experience managing projects in the transportation industry, i.e.(TxDOT, DART, NTTA, DFW Airport, municipalities) a plus
Design-Build project experience a plus
Knowledgeable of construction specifications, inspection procedures and construction contract administration for TxDOT, DART, NTTA, DFW Airport
TxDOT pre-certified in 11.1.1. Roadway Construction and Management and 11.2.1 Major Bridge Construction Management and Inspection, preferred
Experience with MS Project, Primavera, Microsoft Office, required
Local Government Project Procedures (LGPP) Certification, preferred
Experience managing inspectors and engineers with multiple project deadlines
Experience developing business for a construction services team and experience with client relations, preferred
