Giffels Webster is seeking a qualified traffic engineer to join our team. Typical projects include design and review of site plans for vehicular and non-motorized circulation, preparation and review of traffic impact studies and traffic assessments using Synchro and SimTraffic software, preparation of shared parking and downtown parking studies, complete streets plans and programs, evaluation of traffic signal warrants and related studies, and long-range thoroughfare plans. Responsibilities include technical design, project management, and business development. Minimum Position requirements include:
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
Minimum of six to eight years of progressive experience in the traffic engineering field
Registered Professional Engineer in Michigan or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment
PTOE certification is preferred
Previous experience with preparing traffic impact studies, reviewing site plans for circulation and parking, and preparing non-motorized plans.
Proficiency with Synchro and SimTraffic, as well as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
