Department: Engineering and Public Works/Traffic Engineering
Location: 2300 North Vista Parkway, WPB
Hours: 7:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Tuesday - Friday
Other: Valid Florida Driver’s License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment.
Develops and implements traffic signal and system timing plans. Coordinates re-timing activities and monitors Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) control room operations; manages construction and operation of special projects such as adaptive traffic control systems, transit signal priority and Advanced Transportation Management System (ATMS) deployments; conducts field inspections and performs consultant coordination; responds to requests from citizens and public officials.

Licensed as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the State of Florida OR a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Traffic/Transportation Engineering or closely related field; minimum of four (4) years of experience in professional traffic engineering. Equivalency: Master’s Degree in Civil/Traffic/Transportation Engineering and two (2) years of related experience.
Necessary Special Requirement: Licensed as a P.E. in the State of Florida or the ability to obtain licensure by endorsement within 12 months of hire.
PREFERENCE FOR EXPERIENCE WITH:Traffic signal timing development and implementation or traffic signal analysis packages (e.g., Synchro, HCS); traffic signal systems, National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) traffic signal controllers, Signal Priority or Adaptive Traffic control systems; ITS control center operations.

Additional Salary Information: $74,907.00 Annually, negotiable depending on qualifications
