Raytheon Vision Systems (RVS) is seeking a talented, dynamic and flexible individual with semiconductor fabrication experience to join our Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) team, which is part of the Mission Assurance & Supply Chain organizations. This diverse and multidisciplinary position will provide technical and strategic support to virtually all programs at RVS, from high end low-volume space products to high-volume commercial products and it will hold a high visibility within the organization.
The main responsibility of this position will consist in managing the technical relationship with key suppliers to ensure that compliant material is delivered to RVS according to schedule.
The ideal candidate should be characterized by a strong technical background combined with a solid engineering and high tech manufacturing experience. This person will need to actively collaborate with RVS engineering and manufacturing to acquire an in depth understanding of the technical and quality requirements of the products/components being sourced. She/he will also need to establish a strong relationship with suppliers to effectively support the procurement phase of the program and also to lead any RCCA activities during the production phase of the program.
In order to effectively fulfill the required functions of this position, the desired candidate must have a very strong communication and interpersonal skills. She/he will play the role of technical liaison between key suppliers and various functions within the Raytheon organization and she/he will need to actively participate in program reviews and other key meetings. As each activity will need to be properly documented via detailed written reports and/or presentation to Raytheon upper management, strong communication skills and a solid familiarity with Microsoft Office environment are necessary.
A solid experience in the development & management of suppliers, especially in a high tech & high volume manufacturing environment, is highly desired.
This person must be capable to work independently, to travel often domestically on very short notice and to work effectively alone as well as in a team environment. She/he must be very skillful in the establishment and maintaining of effective and lasting working relationships with suppliers and coworkers based on mutual respect and trust.
•4+ years relevant experience which may include semiconductor fabrication, engineering, manufacturing and quality •Proven ability to effectively work alone and in a team environment. •Demonstrated experience in semiconductor fabrication or semiconductor Physics or MEM fabrication Demonstrated experience in high tech •Proficient in reading and understanding mechanical drawings •Proficient in the use of Six-Sigma tools (PFMEA, PARETO chart, 5-WHYs, GAUGE R&R, etc.) •Demonstrated experience with Statistical Process Controls (SPC) •Proficient with Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) tools •Ability to travel domestically up to 30% of the time
Desired Skills: •Demonstrated experience in the management of suppliers •Infrared industry experience •Familiarity with vacuum packaging and/or infrared detector packaging •Familiarity with mechanical, electrical and optical inspection techniques and standards. •Familiarity with quality systems •Familiarity with aerospace industry and its requirements •Experience with LEAN concepts Ability to obtain Secret Clearance
