Mead & Hunt, Inc., a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has a position open for a construction project engineer. Responsibilities include serving as the project engineer/manager on transportation construction engineering and inspection projects throughout the state of North Carolina; overseeing on-site and remote engineering/inspection staff; monitoring construction activities, conducing inspections, performing contract administration, monitoring contractor schedules and budgets and internal department budgets; establishing and maintaining relationships with clients. Travel to construction sites throughout the state is an essential function of this position; a valid driver’s license is required. Extended hours and overnight stays will be required.
The successful candidate will have all of the following:
a bachelor’s degree (or higher) in engineering or construction management;
at least eight years of relevant work experience; and
a PE license in any state with ability to obtain in North Carolina within six months of start date.
The ideal candidate will have experience with any/all of the following: transportation construction project management (preferably NCDOT); PE license in the state of North Carolina; design build transportation construction project management; NCDOT construction management; marketing and proposal preparation for project pursuits; client management; excellent written and verbal communication skills.
